AGCS Chose a New Specialist From Across The Globe
worldinnews.com - Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has announced the promotion of Gordon Browne to the title of specialty head, the new position will be his responsibility from April. Browne will report to Shanil WIlliams, chief underwriting officer at AGCS.
In his new position, Browne will oversee the underwriting and expansion of AGCS's specialty businesses in the areas of aviation, energy, construction, entertainment, and marine.
Together, the specialized businesses accounted for nearly 30% of the $12 billion in gross premiums written by AGCS in 2022.

The appointment is a reflection of the strategic importance of specialty to AGCS's global operations, as well as Allianz's commercial integration strategy, the company said. Under this plan, AGCS will collaborate closely with the country's national Allianz P&C companies to present a single, consistent face to the public regarding commercial business. As a result, the company will adopt a new trading name, Allianz Commercial.
Gordon has almost 20 years of professional experience in the United States and the United Kingdom. He transferred to AGCS from AIG, where he held the position of global leader in energy and construction as well as specialty in North America. During Gordon's tenure at AIG, he also held the position of UK leader in energy and construction as well as the global leader in engineered risks. He previously served as president of Liberty International Underwriters and Marsh.
